I fell silent. After a few moments… "KYAAAAAAAAAAA! Kyo is a guy!" Then, kaa-san yelled from upstairs. "Tohru! Keep it down! I'm taking a nap!" "G-gomen…!" I giggled silently. This is going to be fun.

We have been writing letters to each other for almost two weeks now. I just found out that we both love anime and we both hate Math. Also, our favorite part of school is lunch break! He lives in Sapporo. So fun… OMG… I'm so glad we have common interests! I pulled out another paper from my shelf and began writing a letter.

4 days passed. Finally the letter arrived! I opened it and read it.

I feel like I'm floating in the clouds today with my face hot and red. I'm starting to have this soft, fluffy feeling in my chest. I feel motivated somehow. I wrote another letter:

I woke up blinded by the rays of the sun cutting through the window. It's already this late?! What happened last night? … Oh… Is it because of… Oh! The letter must be here! I ran downstairs and opened the door quickly, as fast as lightning. The mailman stood by the door, stunned with his finger pointed at the doorbell. Haha, I'm sure he was about to ring the doorbell when I opened the door. "Expecting the letter Honda-san?" He laughed. "Ah, hai hai…Arigato…" I smiled, a shy one. I ran upstairs and sat on my bed. I opened the letter excitedly.

Tohru! Good news! Me and my parents are going to go to Nagasaki! You live in Nagasaki, right?! I can't wait to go there! We are going to leave in about four days, so about next week, we should be there in Nagasaki. We're going to ride the Sapporo airlines. I'm so excited! I want to see your place and…you. Five days have passed. I'm so excited. For the past few days, I was jumping all over the room, fantasizing of what we will do together. Sometimes I day dreamed of what will happen when we meet. I even practiced the things I will say when we talk. I really can't wait. I feel so…overjoyed.

I ran downstairs to eat breakfast. Okaa-san and Otou-san were watching tv and drinking coffee at the same time. "Ohayo…" I yawned with a smile on my face. They both greeted back. I stood beside kaa-san. "Itadakimasu…" I was about to drink my milk when I looked at the screen. My glass of milk fell on the floor, making a loud CRASH. The smile on my face faded. I felt the world crash around me, burning to the ground. On the news, it says that a plane heading to Nagasaki from Sapporo airlines…crashed. No one survived. No one…survived the crash.

It can't be…I…don't…

"NOOOO!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "T-Tohru…!" Okaa-san and Otou-san stood up. I fell to my knees, tears strolling down my face. "K-Kyo…" I stood up quickly and ran upstairs to my room. I closed the door shut. I lied on my bed, hugged myself and kept on crying. "Kyo…" I mumbled. Why…Why now…? Why now when I finally realized that…I love you?
